Joan Sanders is a Certified Physician Assistant who graduated with a Masters of Medical Science degree from Emory University’s Physician Assistant program in 2000. Her love of medicine and caring for others was nurtured by her father who was an Internal Medicine physician. Joan volunteered at his free clinic, In Christ Clinic, for many years. In her career, she has worked in Family Practice and in Pediatrics where she was a preceptor for Physician Assistant and Nurse Practitioner students. Since finding her calling in dermatology, she has initiated and grown the cosmetic side of two practices, and she has assisted in and performed various surgical procedures. She finds the most joy in practicing general dermatology. With Joan growing up in Griffin, GA, she truly loves working in the Griffin branch of Fayette Area Dermatology, and giving back to the people there. She is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants, the Georgia Association of Physician Assistants, and the Georgia Dermatology Physician Assistants. She enjoys cooking, sewing, and most of all, spending time with her family.
